Stitches for Sawyer

Okay, this was a piece of cake compared to the last time he was taken in for stitches (he partially amputated his thumb 18 months ago and had 22 stitches) This kid doesn't flinch or cry for nothing.....He never moved a muscle during the entire stitching time (5 stitches) never cried, twitched, complained, moved....When they took the paper off his face...his eyes were just full of tears...which made Mommy's eyes fill with tears, but you would've never know it during the stitching. He'd stiffin' when the Dr. put the needle in...but not a word from this guy. Mommy was SO VERY proud of him. I am sure you are all wondering...what did he do?

This was a homeschool bathroom accident....ha ha. He was at potty time during his class and somehow fell enough to have 5 stitches. I still don't know exactly how it happened. I thought I had the story from another reliable kid who was on the scene...but today when the Dr. went to take the stitches out and he asked Sawyer how it happened....he said it happend on the "potty" To which I replied, "No, he fell off a stool while going to wash his hands" to which Sawyer said, "no, Mom, it didn't" "It happened on the potty" So we may NEVER know what really happened...just that he was probably being a boy....and raced to get to the potty first....hence falling and needing the stitches....His classmates and teachers did a wonderful job on the accident scene...Way to go Begindergarteners! Lots of stitches in this family...no broken bones...Knock on Wood! Posted by Picasa
