Friday 16th: Leave DTW (Detroit) at 1:36 p.m. Arrive MSP (Minneapolis) at 2:29 p.m.
Friday 16th: Leave MSP (Minne) Arrive in ANC (Anchorage, AK) at 8:14 p.m.
Saturday 17th Leave ANC (Anchorage) 4:40 p.m. Arrive in OGG (Maui) at 9:44 p.m.
The Anchorage flight to Maui only is booked at 66%. So if we want to get to Maui, and we do, we get to go to Alaska to do it! Who woulda thunk it? Blair and I will have Sunday, Monday and part of Tuesday to ourselves to explore. Then we will meet up w/our friends on Tuesday afternoon and stay in them in a beautiful house at the start of the Hana Highway, for the next 5 days. We plan on returning back to cold, blustery Michigan Monday, the 26th. Pinch me, b/c I think Im dreaming.

No kiddos, just the two of us and then we will be w/some friends for 5 days there. Our 3 days alone, we will probably snorkel, beach it, lua (maybe) The 5 days w/our friends we are going to explore the island more. I think take ATV's up a volcano and hike to waterfalls, ect..stuff like that. Do the famous Hana Highway, maybe go see Jaws. (the wave)
Im jealous for myslef, if that makes sense! ha ha I can hardly wait, it's been a dream for a LONG time. Can't wait to post pictures! Hey, send me over your email sometime.

Dan and I got the trip of a lifetime to Maui back in March of '03. He qualified for the trip from his company and they put us up in a 5 star resort, provided breakfast every day and 4 of our 7 dinners. We stuffed ourselves for breakfast and skipped lunch and tried to share dinners for the nights we were on our own. It made it a very cheap vacation!
One word of warning - I'll never forget the night we ate at the resort (5 star resorts mean 5 star restaurants, which means 5 star prices!) I ordered a Diet Pepsi and got one refill. We got the bill and I was charged $4.95 for my first diet Pepsi and $4.95 for my second! That is about how much I spend for an entire entree when we eat out in the States!
Have the time of your life. It is indescribably beautiful and relaxing. I would choose to go there again over just about anywhere else in the world!
Have fun! After the busyness and stress of the past few years, the two of you can finally enjoy some time together! We are so happy for you!
