These posts are more for my mom in Minnesota. I am kind of prideful when it comes to living in Michigan and that it allows for warmer weather earlier and well...this is my sinful pride coming out to my mom (the fellow gardener) that my primrose had bloomed by April 1st. And check out my columbine!!!! My astilbes are about 12" high already. Im sure most of this is thanks to the almost two weeks of 70-80 degreee weather we had a few weeks ago.
However, nothing so delightful now...today...it was snowing HUGE flakes...that was only after tiny, ice laden pebbles pelted our house for the better part of the morning. The poor apple tree...green buds 1/2 opened are having an out-of-budding experience. Maybe this next week will warm up? So much for my pride.

Wow! I can't believe it !! I just have a few tulips pushing up thru the ground.
Karen,
Did I tell you I LOVE to garden?? I think it has to do with loving to be outside and loving nature and loving growing things and freshness and eating what you saw come out of the ground!
I mainly go for herbs and tomatoes, but I have grown a few flowers as well. This year since I live in this huge apartment building, I am going in with my friend Andrea to rent a plot where we can plant a ton of stuff and share the produce. I am so excited! I just can't wait to get my hands dirty!
