After waking up dad on the 4th sometime around 1ish.(he works nights) we all declared we didn't know what to do for the day. Some suggestions tossed around the bedroom....batting cages, lazer tag, going to a park, the birthday boy said..Fireworks....all good ideas....but Mom...decided to throw her idea out there and see what Dad thought. You see Mom's favorite place to go is Lake Michigan. After a brief Mom/Dad counsel meeting....Dad (the ever planner, non-spontaneous person he is) said ...."ok, lets go" To which all 4 kids SCREAMED and frantically threw clothes, swimsuits and balls in the back of the van.
Once the cooler was packed w/food of all sorts...the excited Mom quickly Googled Lake Michigan Cities and found that St.Joseph had a display of fireworks on the 4th! To her delight and suprise St. Joseph was only a 2 1/2 hour trip! At preciesly 2:15 the happy family left for the Lake and was treated to splendid weather, gorgeous sunshine, warm, inviting sand and breathtaking views! Fun was had by all!
