Project # 242

As promised for some of you...Im starting to post pictures of the girls room. For those who don't know...we have postponed our trip to Alaska (yes, we were suppose to leave on Friday and plan to go next summer) in exchange for getting some un-finished projects done around the house. Blair has 10 days off...so we are getting busy. His vacation doesn't start until Friday...but we've begun--at least the girls and I have.

So starting out is the color scheme for their "new" more pre-teen room. Since we have no plans of moving, and our home (while we love it) is quite small for 6 people. We brainstormed. All 4 of our kids have to share bedrooms. 10x11 for the girls and 10x10 for the boys. Smallish. So we are building the girls loft beds and re-designing the entire thing.

The main color will be key lime. The ceiling and down the wall a little will be the green shimmer. The lofts will also be painted the green shimmer in a semi-gloss though. The 3 pieces of furniture they have is painted the sea rover color; a bookshelf, and two small cabinets. Then the accent colors will be the pink, brown and blue. Of course white trim around the windows. Also..where the two greens meet on the wall...will be white crown moulding...set in the crown moulding will be white "running" lights. This was Dads idea. He actually installed a new switch in the wall, so the girls will be able to plug these lights in up top and turn them off and on from a wall switch.
