How do you start your day?

This is how I start my day each day. I love coffee mugs that mean something. I try to purchase one on trips to special places, like I bought a Bangkok Starbucks Mug in Thailand. My dear Father-in-law bought me this one pictured last year at the beginning of the school year, which was fitting b/c I do LOVE history.

I start my morning (most mornings) with Tabletalk Devotional Magazine and my ESV Bible that a dear friend gave me a couple years ago; it's become my constant companion. I love the ESV. I HIGHLY recommend the pair to everyone looking for a time spent in the Word each day fruitfully. If you are frustrated by your method or means of a devotional, check Tabletalk out. I received it as a gift subscription this year from someone dear--it has tremendously added and impacted my devotional time. It's not random, but walks you through a book of the Bible each year--This Year it's Matthew. It's also filled with timley articles from respected andGodly Christian leaders like Piper, Dever, Duncan, Adams, Sproul and John MacArthur.

So, How do you start your day? I'm interested to know!

My mornings are pretty random, although they do always include a cup of coffee! My favorite is Berre's Brothers Highlander Grogg. I'm drinking it now!

I am really trying to become more disciplined in my morning routine. So this morning I woke at 5:30, read the Bible and prayed, and then exercised for 30 minutes, and all before the rest of my family was awake! I felt so prepared for the day by the time Elijah got up. Hopefully that feeling will keep me getting up early from now on!

I can't seen to get out of bed earlier than 6 AM - my nights are very restless. And I need to get out of the house by 7:15 at the latest. I recently found the perfect devotional for me. It's called "Good Morning, God!" Designed to give the reader a 5 minute focus on the One who is in charge. I combine it with "Breaking Free" by Beth Moore, and the the accompanying Daily Devotional. (I have needed to work through this study for a long time!! I recommend it HIGHLY!) Along with my morning cup of Gevalia English Breakfast Tea, after my rather short but heartfelt time with the Lord of Lords, I then can waltz out the door with light feet and heart!

I start my morning with a cup of NingXia Red, a high antioxidant juice from Young Living. I also use some peppermint oil to wake up.

I get on my computer to check emails, etc., get the kids up, have breakfast, and then we start with Bible time. The boys have Bible reading schedules, work on their Awana books, and practice their Easter song.

I start the day with a cup of tea, oatmeal and my little green ESV. To accompany my scripture reading, I read a prayer from Valley of Vision, and For the Love of God. After I read my Bible, I usually journal and pray (sort of together, as well as read Scripture to guide my prayer). If any time whatsoever is leftover I read whatever my book is for the day.The first 3 days of the week I am reading a book with someone, so I tackle whatever chapter that is.

All of that plus whatever morning chore (laundry, grocery), and then off to work!

Donette--doesn't it just feel great when you rise that early and accomplish much especially time in the Word and exercise? I have to tell you, when we moved to Michigan the Watlz's (recently graduated from Maranatha) had introduced Berres Bros coffee (namely Highlander Grog) That is some absolute delicious flavored coffee. Yum-mo. My friends gave me some Berres Bros Hazlenut Cream for my Bday this year. I had it yesterday....good stuff.

Gret-- good to know it was you. I thought maybe it was Josh Waltz. But then I read do laundry, grocery ect...and figured, that probably wasn't him. Hee Hee Do you work full-time Gret?

Linda, don't you love Beth Moore's studies? I've only done a few, but I have really enjoyed the ones I did. I'd like to do the one on the Patriarchs.

Morning Rose, I'm intrigued by your juice! What is the Easter Song the boys are working on?
