Try this: press the little AV+/- button and roll the dial. Now take the same picture with it at
0, +1, and -1. It will lighten or darken your photos, helping you get the best exposure on any picture you take in one of the letter modes (P, Tv, Av, M, or A-Dep).

I just took a class on my camera last week and the teacher said this is what a wedding photographer does to ensure that one of the posed family pics will turn out right. Get used to snapping one, click up, snap, click down and snap and you will see what looks best.

Also, I tagged you on a "5 Things about me" meme. Check out my blog for the details!

Thanks for the hints Donette! Where did you go to take a class on your Rebel? How long have you had it?

We bought ours in October, last year. Dan's brother, Mike is a professional photographer, so he has given us a lot of good tips, and we have taken 1 of the 2 classes offered for DSLR users from the store where we bought it. And I've read a lot online. I'll email you a couple of the sites I like to visit - I'd tell you here, but I can never figure out how to make a link on this page.
