Arrival

We made it to Anchorage Alaska yesterday around noon. We left the house at 4 a.m. on Wednesday and got to MSP. Then left MSP at 9:40 and got into Anchorage at 11:55. It's a 6 hour flight from there. 7.5 flight from Detroit. Blairs aunt and cousin picked us up from the airport and we went to their house and had a relaxing afternoon sitting in the afternoon sun on their porch listening to the waterfall, talking.

The kids had a ball riding bikes, playing on the swingset and in the waterfull and with the Schnauzer Ben. They took the dog on a walk and met another family of 4 that homeschools and the boys have been playing yesterday and today with their kids. How fun, what a small homeschool world. Last night after dinner, we finished around 8 p.m. and the kids started dropping like flies. All of the sudden we heard snoring and Tayler was snoring loudly on the couch...a few moments later....Luke was as well. A few minutes later...Sawyer fell asleep on my lap under the dining table. 8 p.m. was like midnight back home and we'd been up since 4 a.m. and only slept from midnight til 4 the night we left...so we were all pretty dead. So we tucked them in to bed, Natalie the nightowl stayed and read, claiming she wasn't ready for bed.

Blair and I, Larry and Bev took a walk. Just across the street and through some REALLY dense woods, was the ocean. We were high on a bluff and as we looked out, all you could see was the Turnagin Arm with the Mountains as a backdrop. It was gorgeous. I'll try to post pictures. Not sure if I can or not w/o Picasa.

Anyway....I'll try to post here and there w/lost of pictures when we get back.

Today we are going to do some stuff around Anchorage, touristy stuff and tomorrow, if the weather holds, we will climb Flattop Mountain.
