Kettle River Quarry

I went to the town I lived my whole life in today. It's name is Sandstone for the Quarry where Sandstone was mined to create it.

This picture is in Robinson Park, where the quarry is located on the Kettle River. They destroyed the dam several years back making the river shallow. It used to be quite deep. I hadn't been there in almost 20 years. Talk about a trip through memory lane? We hiked around a bit after spending the better part of the day at Quarry Days, the annual town festival. (remember this town is only 800 people) I ran into a few friends which was fun and lots of old school teachers, whom the kids met. We drove to places and pointed out the 'high' spots from childhood. I also took the kids out to Grindstone Lake where some of my best memories of my childhood were and where I counselled at Bible Camp as well as attended.

Fun Day.
