Girl Time

Today was spent in a leisurely fashion. Sunday afternoons are usually isolated for me--that is I am isolated from the kids. It is my day to prepare for the week of school for the kids. Today, being this next week is "Winter Break" and no school for our co-op, I didn't have to spend my day preparing. Instead, we got home from church and the girls made cards and I scrapbooked for the entire afternoon.

I was able to spend some much needed "non-mom" as ina break from my role as strict, teacher, disciplinarian, and chore hound. We just had fun. Tay wanted to bake so she made that plate of yummy banana muffins in 3 varaities. I thought she had opened up a jar of frosting--but oh no, not her. She melted chocolate chips. I didn't even know she knew how to do that? HA!

The girls worked on Valentines for their 26 cousins and exposed me to BarlowGirl, Jeremey Camp, Zoe Girl, Big Daddy Weave, Brandon Heath and other groups that to me
are just a name on an album. I exposed them to Wayne Watson and a new favorite Aaron Shust.

Food, Music, Crafting and NO responsiblities. A successful day--despite the fact that my "to do" list wasn't accomplished. The laundry will always be there tomorrow right? My kids won't.
