Silver Lake Dunes

The Dunes at Silver Lake are HUGE. Biggest ones I've seen in the 5 years we've been going to Lake Michigan. I think Sleeping Bear Dunes are bigger, but they were another 1 1/2 hour further North. We didn't have that kind of time this trip. But they are somewhere I really hope to go.

On our way out of Dodge, we were tired from our day at Ludington, but we had to see where all the Jeeps and ORV's, and 4 Wheelers were going. So we drove to the State Park and climbed these big stairs that brought us to these incredibly amazing dunes.

These Dunes are sandwiched between Silver Lake and Lake Michigan. We thought they were remiscient to the dunes in the African Desert that Roger roamed in the delightful movie Wives and Daughters.

Great pictures!
We have always enjoyed Lake Michigan too...spent many summers camping/staying in cabins at Silver Lake.
Oh! I do recommend Sleeping Bear Dunes. We stayed there about 3 years ago at Platte River Campground - beautiful, spacious lots!
